It is what is commemorated in Oria on Christmas night at twilight, an original Living Crib in the spirit of  S.Francis of Assisi and the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. In this medieval town crowded around its castle, on December 25th, everything seems to stop and go back to the past; time and space too seem to vanish, to make room for a second Bethlehem. And while the night is coming down and wrapping up everything in its darkness, the sweet atmosphere of that prophetic day is reborn.

The greatest event of history is set in the pastoral stage of Colle Impisi, one of the most beautiful hill around the town, with the costumes of that time and by candlelight.
At the foot of the beautiful hill, which recalls the Palestine landscape, a crowd of people are gathered in a superb natural amphitheatre and in a deep silence relive the emotion of that distant Holy night in a magic fusion of sounds, lights, colours dominated by splendor of angels,
who at the top of the hill tell to the world a message of peace.
 

Among recognitions we must remember the homage of a Jerusalem olive tree given us by Israel in 1994, as a memorial of the first edition, the success obtained in Spoleto in January 1996 at the National Festival of Living Crib and the First Prix "a silver Nativity" received at the National Competition "Praesepium Italiae" of Sicily and  on October 3th 1998 our association presented to the World Shrine of Greccio with a plastic model of the Living Crib before civil and religious autorities of the town.
